Tie A Bowline
Howdy Stranger
Detailed Description
The bowline is used less in climbing than many other knots, but it is still a great knot to know that comes in handy from time to time. One of those times is when building anchors with static rope around a tree or boulder.

Remember, when used in a climbing context always back up a bowline with another knot or by clipping the end loop to another part of the rope. The bowline has a tendency to untie itself if not backed up.
