Detailed Description
This is a under the radar nifty way to anchor to a tree or similar with a rope.
A girth hitch is great, but it requires running the whole rope through, which is inconvenient at best and impossible at worst.
An alternative method is to tie a bowline on a bight of rope. However, this takes up more rope (but doesn't require a carabiner).
